A day in St. Augustine

The other day we went to visit my little brother who lives in St. Augustine. He loves to cook and is pretty good at it for a nineteen year old college student with no money. He gets all of his produce, cheeses and dairy from local markets, his bread from a local bakery, and all of his spices and teas from a spice shop. I love that he spends his money on good quality, organic food and chooses to cook himself meals rather than go out to eat every night or use the microwave for every meal.

He works at a really cool place called "The Hyppo", which sells gourmet popsicles! Sounds weird but they have some really unique and crazy flavors. I've tried the cilantro and pineapple(which is amazing) but my favorite at the moment is the coconut coconut.

After a popsicle orgasm, we went to my brothers pad and cooked up dinner (dessert before dinner? oh, yes)

Even though the dishes seem a bit random together, the whole combination was perfect. We ate it with bread, cheeses, and honey (as usual), and red wine.

The next morning we went to a bagel shop down the road called "Schmagels". I had a blueberry bagel with honey-almond cream cheese. That hit the spot.

St. Augustine....

...is possibly one of the most wonderful cities in the United States. The atmosphere mixed with all of the cute shops and amazing restaurants make it one of my favorite places to spend the day. Luckily, it's only one hour from my house and my little brother lives there! Here are some pictures from yesterday..

This is the house that my little brother lives in...how amazing is it?! He lives in the lower half with a roommate. 

This is their super cute kitchen, its very old but I love the brick and old wood floors.

This is the one bathroom that they share. I love the tile and the stained glass window so much. Unfortunately my camera does not do this bathroom justice (I really need a new camera).

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to snap too many photos because my camera batteries died. But, I am telling you,  if you ever get the chance to go to St. Augustine, you HAVE to go and eat at "The Floridian". I am being serious when I say that if you visit St. Augustine without visiting this restaurant, you are seriously missing out. It is the best food I've had in a very long time and I'm depressed I couldn't take a picture it! Oh well, you'll have to see for yourselves :) Have a lovely day!
